Warning of cycle route from the central Letchworth shopping area

Mystery shared-use sign and route signs where NCN route 12 crosses the Icknield Way

No Cycling on The Wynd, Letchworth, although it wouldn't be a problem on this southern section at least.

It's definitely a dead-end for motor vehicles, definitely not for pedestrians, and debatable for cyclists - improvements needed.

It's only a dead-end for motor vehicles of course.

It is the end of the route, although a Cyclists Rejoin Carriageway sign might make more sense.

Overhead barrier with No Horses sign - no cycling either on this footpath out of the Oughtonhead Common Nature Reserve, Hitchin

No Bicycles at the rear of Ickleford church

No Cycling on this section of path - but there's a good alternative just to the west via Wadnall Way.

Cycle stands and start of shared-use route south from Baldock

lost in sustranslation...

Royston cycleways - a sign explains that this route is not a public right of way, but that the landowner has granted permission for walking and cycling. Well done whoever negotiated that.

The Except Cycles plate has helpfully been turned around.

'Road used as a Public Path' (and in fact unusable as anything else - bizarre designation) (location inexact)

The latest in the sorry saga of the cycle route between Baldock and Letchworth. So is this a cycle route or isn't it ? Is that sign really suggesting that you should get off your bike and walk along this SEGREGATED cycle path ? Is there … [more]

Gratuitous and entirely unnecessary cycling ban on the Baldock Bypass. Not many people would particularly want to cycle on the bypass, but that should be their choice. This is a "general purpose" road, built out of the local transport … [more]

Off the public highway I believe. Another exception plate to add to the collection.

A sad but common sight in Royston. What are public spaces for if not for kids to have fun - and good, active fun at that. Let's have basketball nets, skateboard ramps, play equipment etc in these spaces. Let's bring them to life. They … [more]

The John St Gyratory. This one way loop makes any short trip very indirect. It should simply be made no motor vehicles except for access, with 20 mph limit and 2 way flow.

Count the no entry signs. There are 10 in this frame although not all can be seen,, and several more immediately behind the camera. The A10 gyratory here is fast and unpleasant. Very intimidating for inexperienced cyclists. And … [more]

One of many no entry signs on this short and unpleasant stretch of the A10. The A10 gyratory itself makes for fast, unpleasant traffic conditions that are a strong deterrent to cycling. Access anywhere in this busy corner of Royston is … [more]

You cannot go anywhere from this corner of the A10 gyratory. Three streets come into it, none of which allow you to turn in. This one, Sun Hill, requires a long detour and a significant climb if you follow the one way. Very cycle … [more]

You cannot go anywhere from this corner of the A10 gyratory. High St no entry, no contraflow for cycling even though this is a "pedestrianised" street with access restrictions. Very cycle un-friendly.

You cannot go anywhere from this corner of the A10 gyratory. King Street on the left, High St on the right - both no entry. Very cycle un-friendly.

Cyclists dismount ! Hertfordshire County Council display their contempt for cyclist priority with this dismount sign only yards from the National Cycle Network. Baldock Lane is a quiet road with little traffic - this should be a cycle … [more]
